Guest Arrival Procedure

Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences has always been known for being dynamic for our guests, and with COVID-19 affecting our world, we have taken appropriate actions to make for a safer environment for our guests' and our team's safety.


Measures taken in the Maldives to close the borders and contain COVID-19 were stringent but necessary. The actions undertaken were effective in containing cases well below those that were predicted by projected models. As such, the Maldives is now preparing to re-open its borders according to government guidelines for the ‘new normal’. These guidelines are the result of consultations between the country’s health authorities and the tourism industry. They facilitate the reopening of the Maldives’ world-class tourism accommodation and attractions whilst ensuring the safety of our residents and visitors.


Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences will reopen from October 1st, 2020, starting initially with a ‘new normal’ and carefully rolling out more amenities and activities according to a three-phase plan. From July 16th until the end of September, our resort will be available for guests booking long stays in our Residences or Beach Villas, exclusive sole-use group bookings and private visits by Residence owners. We anticipate that more normalised operations will resume from December 1st, which marks Phase Three of our carefully-planned reopening strategy.

From spa therapists turning into farmers and orchid nursery caretakers to room attendants turning into artists and butlers becoming landscape gardeners, our team has been able to achieve remarkable progress in injecting new life into Amilla through their versatility and positive spirits. Amilla is always evolving and now we are reborn - more playful , creative and sustainable than ever.

The Amilla Islanders team is undergoing stringent Covid-19 certification and training, with support from NSURE, as per Maldivian government requirements for the reopening of the Maldives’ tourism properties. This training has been designed to ensure all resort staff in the Maldives are aware of and adhere to the highest Covid-19 prevention procedures, and consolidates Amilla’s own rigorous hygiene protocols.
